A child should not be kept away from school for reasons other than illness. It is a legal requirement that the school should be informed of any absence. Please telephone the school between 8.15am and 9.45am if your child is absent for any reason. On the child’s return, a letter should be given or sent to the teacher to justify the absence. If you need to collect your child during the day for a dental, doctors, appointment etc; you will be asked to sign in a book to indicate you have taken your child out of school and on return sign to indicate they are back in school.
Holidays should be taken outside of term time and a list of holiday dates is given at the beginning of the academic year. View our term dates here. We do not encourage children to take holidays during term time as this could adversely affect the continuity of their education. However, if because of reasons beyond your control this is necessary, it is important that you notify the Headteacher. If you require a leave of absence form please download and complete our Leave of Absence Form.
